GalileoMobile Shares New Documentary ‘The Path Of The Stars’
20 December 2017

In November 2017, GalileoMobile worked on Astroclub, astronomy academies for primary and secondary schools in Chile. The event was filmed and made into a short documentary, that GalileoMobile has shared with the international community.

The Astroclubs are academies that were developed during the year to promote knowledge in astronomy and focus on the importance of science. Through a series of workshops, over 100 primary and secondary school students of the Coquimbo region could learn about the universe.

The activities were organised with Gemini Observatory, the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) and PAR Explora Coquimbo. “We met awesome people, travelled through breathtaking landscapes and had an incredible experience with students and teachers,” says GalileoMobile Blog.

‘El Camino de las Estrellas’: The Path of the Stars.

Several Astroclubs were established in the area of Elqui valley. This region is known for its starry sky and its huge telescopes and is nicknamed ‘El Camino de las Estrellas’ or The Path of the Stars. “The name of our short documentary about our expedition could not be more appropriate.”

The GalileoMobile project shares astronomy across the world in spirit of inclusion, sustainability, and cultural exchange, to create a feeling of unity under the same sky. Since 2008, GalileoMobile has organized astronomy activities with over 17,000 students, teachers, and the general public all over the world.
