Timbuktu Dishes Out the Latest Space Scoops
29 August 2013

EU-UNAWE's Space Scoop, our astronomy news service for children, has become a regular feature of the popular digital magazine, Timbuktu! In the August 2013 “Back to School” edition, the Space Scoop story So You Think You're Sitting Still?, has been illustrated by the magazine's talented in-house designers and adapted for an even younger audience. The story, narrated by a playful little character called Oscar, introduces children to the fact that while they might feel like they're sitting still, they're actually moving through space at unbelievable speeds right now. To quote the article, “...at speeds that make the fastest rocket look like its moving at a snail's pace!

Timbuktu is a digital children's magazine for the ipad, designed to provide children aged 6-10 with educational and entertaining reading material in a format that is interactive, playful and easy to navigate. The focus is heavily centered on the latest news and current events. A wide range of topics are covered in the monthly publication, from literature and vocabulary building to mathematics, science and current events. Like EU-UNAWE, Timbuktu believe that kids deserve to be involved in what happens around them, and also what's happening in the rest of our awesome Universe!

Timbuktu Magazine is subscription based, you can subscribe on a monthly or annual basis directly from itunes.
