UNAWE Hosts TEMI Meeting in Leiden
5 November 2013

This week Universe Awareness hosts the second general meeting of the European project Teaching Enquiry with Mysteries Incorporated (TEMI). This project is a joint effort of 13 organisations, mainly universities, from 11 different countries. The consortium will focus on developing educational resources based around scientific mysteries for use in secondary schools and during teacher training sessions, which will be organised by the project.

The meeting takes place in the cultural building Raamsteeg2 in the centre of Leiden (the Netherlands), home of Leiden University which is one of the 13 TEMI member organisations and base of the Universe Awareness international office. For three days, starting Wednesday 6 November, the building will host numerous discussions, training sessions and presentations. The event is a continuation of a TEMI meeting held in London earlier this year, during which participants met for the first time.

During the past six months a lot of work has been done on the project, and this week provides an opportunity for members to put their heads together, share what they've been working on and learn from each other.

On the evening of the last day – Friday 8 November - the Abracadabra! Late Night Show will be held at the Raamsteeg2, a night filled with magic and science. The coordinator of TEMI, Peter McOwan from Queen Mary University, will also play a role at the evening event. Everyone is welcome, to book your tickets at 7.50 euros each, simply email: raamsteeg2@gmail.com.
