Story of Light Festival: Shedding Light on the Abstract
11 November 2014

The year is almost coming to an end and Earth is rushing to complete its orbit around the Sun. There is a good reason why our planet is moving over 100,000 km/h to reach the end of 2014. Next year, 2015, will be the International Year of Light! During 2015 many events and activities will be organised around the world about everything that has to do with light, from quantum physics to light bulbs. One of these events is the Story of Light Festival in Goa, India.

The festival brings artists, scientists, educators and philosophers together to create public discussions, workshops and talks. They will all be interactive and dynamic so the general public will learn the stories hidden in the equations of science. The abstract concepts of science will be brought to life. And for this, light is the perfect gateway topic. After all, light is the one thing that allows us to see!

Everything that has been set up so far was self-funded by the festival core team. Now they need your support to turn all their efforts into reality. That is why the festival has started a crowdfunding campaign. Anyone can easily contribute by pledging a chosen amount, and every dollar counts! The funds will primarily be used to make the participation of artists and scientists possible by financing travel costs, accommodation and equipment. The festival runs on a large team of volunteers, who need financial support for their basic needs.

The crowdfunding campaign aims for 15,000 and has just kicked-off. Make your pledge now and become a sparkling part of the story of light in magical Goa, India!
