Traveling Astronomy Classroom in Colombia
29 September 2009

The Museo de la Ciencia y el Juego (MCJ) of the National University of Colombia in Bogota has developed a Traveling Astronomy Exhibition. This suitcase consists of 28 posters and 31 games which form the interactive exhibit "Our Sky: of Day and Night."

Furthermore, a collaboration between Colciencias, Sena (National Learning Service) and the National University of Colombia through the MCJ and the National Astronomical Observatory, is developing a programme called Traveling Astronomy Classroom.

The Traveling Astronomy Classroom consists of an astronomy suitcase (used during the day) and astronomical observation equipment (used at night). It started its journey mid-August and will come back to Bogota on 18 December after traveling across the country.

During this journey, the Traveling Astronomy Classroom will reach some 70 towns and cities Colombia. Click here to see the map and follow their travels.
