Searching For A Name That's Out Of This World
18 February 2013

The European Space Agency is asking kids from all over the world to find a name for their mascot, can you help?

After travelling millions of miles from a far away planet, this little green alien has parked his spaceship and parachuted down to Earth to learn about our home and teach us about all the wonders of the cosmos he's seen on his travels. But his name is too difficult for human tongues to say, so we need to give him a new name.

If you're between 4 and 12 years old, or you know someone who is, ask them to take part! All you have to do is fill in this online form before 29 March 2013, with the name you have picked and an explanation of why it has been chosen. Judges will be looking for the catchiest name and one that can be pronounced in many different languages. The best ten entries all win prizes, so get your thinking caps on and send in your entry today!

For a full list of rules and regulations visit the ESA Education website. Or, if you need a little more inspiration, you can learn all about the new mascot's journey to Earth in this cool comic strip.
