Atlas of the Future features Universe in a Box
14 June 2017

Atlas of the Future now features Universe in a Box, thereby recognising the educational kit and the UNAWE network, as an innovative, future-focused, socially impactful project for people worldwide. Thanks to Skateistan for submitting UNAWE, we are now part of the Atlas catalogue of inspiring projects around the world.

Atlas of the Future is an online resource inspired by the talent and energy of people across the world working to solve our biggest challenges and create a better tomorrow. As part of a non-profit being launched in Barcelona and London, its mission is ‘democratising the future’.

Lisa Goldapple, editor-in-chief of Atlas of the Future, elaborates: “Democratising the future means making sure developments are understandable and entertaining – not just in science and tech, politics or culture, urban planning or education, arts and design – but stories in every area of human activity”.

Find Universe Awareness on the Atlas map, or via any of the following tags: Awareness raising, Communication, Community, Education, Empathy, Environment, Information, Satellites, Space, Storytelling, Students, Youth.

The Atlas is an online resource, mapping innovative, future-focused, socially impactful projects and people around the world. Projects on the Atlas are considered to have a real, unique, and long-term impact, and contribute to finding solutions to the world’s problems. Skateistan submitted UNAWE to Atlas of the Future, and thanks to them we are now part of the Atlas catalogue of inspiring projects around the world. You can also find Skateistan in the Atlas.

The Universe in a Box is an educational kit to assist teachers and educators in bringing astronomy and space sciences to 4–10 year old children around the world. The Box provides teachers and educators with over 40 practical, interactive, and fun activities, which you can easily recreate and do yourself.
